As members of the Church of Scotland's Angus Presbytery the individual charges of Brechin (Gardner Memorial Church) and Farnell Parish Churches - were linked in early 2008 and, whilst each church retains its own unique character, their congregations now look forward to working together.
The two parishes are both located in the north east corner of lowland Angus midway between the coast and the glens and are barely five miles apart. Nevertheless they are very different. Gardner Memorial is a town church with a concentrated membership of about 450, whilst Farnell is a rural church with approximately 110 members spread over a much wider area.
Both churches are members of the Esk Parish Grouping which includes all the churches in both the City of Brechin and the surrounding area.
